Introduction:

Aceclofenac + Paracetamol + Serratiopeptidase Tablet is a combination medicine to relieve pain and is designed to address various aspects of pain and inflammation. This relieves pain due to headaches, menstrual cramps, back pain, spondylitis, etc. This article briefly described the composition, mechanism of action, uses, side effects, and safety instructions associated with this pharmaceutical combination.

Composition:

This tablet contains three drugs, aceclofenac, paracetamol or acetaminophen, and serratiopeptidase.

Aceclofenac

1. Aceclofenac: It is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It contains anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. The molecular weight of aceclofenac is 354.2 gm/mol. The molecular formula of aceclofenac is [C16H13NO4Cl2].

Paracetamol

2. Paracetamol: Paracetamol, also known as Acetaminophen. It is an analgesic and antipyretic drug. It is a P-amino phenol derivative. The molecular weight of acetaminophen is 151.1 gm/mol. The molecular formula of acetaminophen is, [C8H9NO2].

Serratiopeptidase
3. Serratiopeptidase: Serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme that is produced by the bacteria, enterobacterium Serratia. This bacteria is present in the silk-warm intestine. The molecular weight of serratiopeptidase is, 45000D to 60000D.

Mechanism of Action:

 1. Aceclofenac: Prostaglandin is a major inflammatory mediator. Aceclofenac basically inhibits the cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzyme. Aceclofenac potentially inhibits the cyclo-oxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme. This enzyme is responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandin. When the prostaglandin synthesis is blocked, pain and inflammation are reduced.

2. Paracetamol Prostaglandin is the chemical that is responsible for swelling and inflammation. Acetaminophen affects prostaglandin production and reduces its production. It is also effective in the heat regulation system of the brain. It notifies the brain to lower the body temperature when it is elevated.

3. Serratiopeptidase: Serratiopeptidase inhibits the cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzyme. It binds with both the cyclo-oxygenase-1 (COX-1) enzyme and the cyclo-oxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme. Due to this, the synthesis of prostaglandins and interleukins is blocked, which reduces pain and swelling. serratiopeptidase is responsible for wound healing by binding with the dead tissue around the wound and inhibiting microcirculation around the injury.

Uses:

The combination is commonly prescribed for conditions involving pain, inflammation, and fever, such as:
  • Musculoskeletal pain (e.g., arthritis, sprains)
  • Dental Pain.
  • Postoperative pain
  • inflammatory conditions

  2. This combination of medicines is taken with caution for those people who have a history of kidney diseases.
  3. This combination medicine is taken with caution for pregnant women.
